Sananda Maitreya

I'm always thinking about the music that reminds me of my childhood. Tonight I was driving and Terrance Trent D'Arby came on the radio. I will always remember that when we lived in Denmark we had 3 tapes in our car, Terrance Trent D'Arby, Garth Brooks, and Tracy Chapman. When I think about driving in Denmark, that's all I hear in my head.

At home I remember listening to a lot of Michael Jackson. My Dad brought back History from a business trip to America, and I would play it over and over again in our sun room and dance for hours. I would also play a Motown compilation CD that my Mom had. I had my own choreography for Dancing in the Streets. And Madonna.

When Hootie and the Blowfish came out, my Dad was really into it, so I was really into it. We also listened to a lot of Pearl Jam, Queen, Elton John and Radiohead because we were so proud that they were from Abingdon.
