Lost Spoilers

I actually felt physically ill while watching the last 30 minutes of the Lost finale because I finally realized that nothing was going to be tied up, and the however many hundreds of hours I spent watching were for nothing. I'm glad they had a great time making it though.

Below are questions not written by me, but written by Matthew. I have a really bad memory, so the Lost writers are lucky because I wouldn't have ever remembered just how many things were never answered.

Why was Elois Hawking aware of the purgatory world? Why did she tell Desmond to stop gathering everyone together? Why didn't she want them to move on? Also, why did she come to Desmond in one of his flashbacks during season 3 and tell him about his future on the island? Remember that? Why was she so special?

What was the sickness that wiped out Rousseaue's party? What was the sickness that infected Sayid and Claire, and are they the same thing?

Why couldn't the smoke monster cross those moats of ash outside of the temple?

What was the temple? Who were the people in the temple? Who was the Japanese guy with the facial hair? Why did he hate English?

How did dunking Sayid in that pool resurrect him? Why did it take longer than usual?

Why did the Japanese guy with facial hair have to torture Sayid in order to determine whether or not he was evil?

What was "Jacob's Shack" that kept disappearing and moving to different places on the island? Why was it surrounded by a moat of ash? Why were objects thrown around by an invisible man when Ben was inside it that one time?

How was Jacob able to leave the island?

Why was Ben ejected from the island into some desert when he turned the wheel to move it?

What was the real purpose of the Dharma Initiative?

Why did The Others serve Jacob? Why did Jacob need subordinates?

Why were The Others so ruthless when Jacob clearly wasn't?

Why didn't Jacob ever talk to The Others directly?

What were the numbers? Why did each of the candidates have one of the numbers next to their name on the ceiling of the cave? Why did the numbers bring Hurley back luck when he used them to win the lottery?

What was the incantation Jacob and his mom said when they poured drinks for their replacements? Why didn't Jack say it when he poured Hurley's?

Why was Jacob's true replacement (in Jack's words) "always supposed to be Hurley"?

Why did Jacob visit and touch each candidate before they came to the island? Did he know they would all be on the same flight from Sydney, or did he somehow arrange that by altering their fates or something?

What were Walt's special powers? Why did the others kidnap him? Why was he significant? Why was he able to talk to Michael through the hatch computer?

Why was Hurley able to see dead people? Why was the Man in Black able to see his dead mom?

Why did the Man in Black's dead mom come to him and tell him all that stuff about his people and about being murdered?

Why did dead Michael come to Hurley and tell him he was making a mistake?

Where did the regular, present-day Dharma supply drops come from?

What was Ilana's purpose? Why did she seem to have an especially close relationship with Jacob? Why did she and her team seem to know things even The Others didn't know?

Why couldn't women give birth on the island? Why were Claire and Rousseau exceptions to this rule?

Why did Michael have to be on or near the island to die? Why couldn't he commit suicide back in the real world?

Why was the Man in Black able to assume the forms of dead people?

What exactly turned the Man in Black into the smoke monster? Why didn't this also happen to the other men who entered the light?
